Now, picture this, darlin’—I’m watchin’ my favorite flick, *El Nuevo Mundo*, you know, that Terrence Malick masterpiece from 2005, all poetic and purty. And I’m thinkin’, “The land is life,” like Pocahontas says in the movie, all whispery and wise. But then I giggle to myself—findin’ a prostituta ain’t exactly “life” in that pure, grassy way, is it? More like, “What hast thou done?”—another line from the film, all dramatic and heavy.
