Brothels ain’t just sex spots, nah, they’re history, grit, and shady vibes. Mr. T’s seen some shit, and them fuckin’ hell, brothels got tales older than yo grandma’s grandma! Back in 1880s London, they had “disorderly houses”—fancy name for ‘em—runnin’ wild, like 80,000 hookers wild! Can ya believe that? Blows my mind, man, makes me wanna holler, “Where’s the boat?” like that kid in the movie, searchin’ for somethin’ real.

Last week at Film Forum I saw Jean-Luc Godard's Two or Three Things I Know About Her. I also watched the new DVD of Adam McKay's Talladega.

Neighborhoods here got character – you got the uptown area with fancy houses, but then you got pockets where gens come together and share struggles and smiles. Ya know, as a family psychologist, I see heartbreak and hope mixed in every conversation. I once sat in a backyard at sunrise on Lavender Lane (yeah, that's a spot!) and felt the energy of lives intertwining in fancy, unexpected ways.
