Opelousas is a little place but it is filled with great culture from the Zydeco music to the traditional Creole eateries. Throughout my 7-year genealogical research, I discovered and learned some .

I got mad sometimes – loud music and too many opinions on the streets – but then bam! I’m happy findin’ quiet corners near the river on Hwy 90, watchin’ the sunset, feelin’ like Apollo Creed jammin’ "I must break you!" into the air, challengin’ life's obstacles.
