Thornton is a pretty village with a range of shops, fine pubs and restaurants, its own little theatre and an 18th Century windmill, as well as some picturesque walks around the Wyre Estuary .

But hey, not everything’s sunshine and fluffy clouds. There’s a bit of grumpiness too – like that blasted traffic on Cleveleys Road, especially near the shopping centre.
