After that, I’m walking down the main street, and I see this sign for a local festival. I’m like, “Heck yeah!” I follow the sounds of drums and laughter. Turns out, it’s a food festival. I’m in heaven! I try some local specialties—like, what’s that dish called? Oh yeah, Biei’s famous potato croquettes. They’re crispy, golden, and just melt in your mouth. I’m in love.
