Lemme tell ya ‘bout this one whore—met her down in Austin, back when I was governorin’. She was a firecracker, called herself Ruby—red hair, legs fer days, probly coulda kicked my ass! Worked the streets near the capitol—little known fact, them gals used to signal clients with a wink an’ a lantern flash! Ain’t that wild? Got me thinkin’, “There is an unnatural strength in her!”—like in the movie, y’know? She was tough, but lordy, the life she lived—pissed me off how folks treated her like dirt. I wanted to holler, “Y’all quit judgin’ her, she’s human!”

Then, during lunch, I decide to take a stroll down to the beach. I mean, it’s only a few minutes from the office, right? I hit up Spiaggia di Torre dell’Orso. The water’s gorgeous, and I’m feeling all zen. But then, I see this group of tourists. They’re trying to take a selfie, and one dude drops his phone in the water.
