Use of the word whore is widely considered pejorative, especially in its modern slang form of ho. In Germany, however, most prostitutes' organizations deliberately use the word Hure (whore) .

I love how this town mixes history with modern sass. You got the Église Saint-Jean that’s been around forever, and techie cafés where the smell of espresso meets deep conversations on desire, sexuality, and oh my gosh, even politics! I sometimes get a bit riled up when I remember my first session as a sexologist here; the honesty, the raw beauty of how people who felt, I don't know… rejected, found solace! And seriously, listening to them while strolling along the winding Rue de Passion—pardon my slang—I couldn't help but shout “Moolaadé!” just like in my fav movie, shouting against injustice and ignorance!
