But oh man, Avranches is also known for its shady alleys near the port area. The old harbor, right off Quai de la République, buzzes in the evenings with locals havin’ a laugh, talkin’ about the tides and times gone by. I get all fired up sometimes – I mean, there’s this raw beauty, almost gritty, that gets under your skin like you’re clip-clop on rusty rails. And I can’t help but say, “Laissez faire!” to the cosmic madness of it all.
