Jilemnice is often marketed as one of the ‘gateway’ towns to the Krkonoše mountains, but in truth it is a little too far from the main peak area to be a popular staring point for walks or skiing .

Down by the river Brodka, the water flows smooth. I met a stray dog there once. It was a real moment. Dude, it was like my inner Beetlejuice was shoutin’ “It’s showtime!” as the pup wagged its tail. Kinda surreal!
