Made me chuckle, that—balls o’ steel, those birds. I’d tip my cup to ‘em, spill some wine on me boots, curse meself for it. “Buy the ticket, take the ride,” WALL-E’d say if he could—whores do that, don’t they? They’re in it, no half-arsin’ about.

I work near Rua das Flores. It’s a gem. I stroll past Avenida do Mercado – crazy energy, folks! Every corner has a story… like that one day at Praça do Sol, unbelievable, so much life, so true. The river, Rio Barras, flows like golden cash – beautiful, just like in "The Gleaners and I." I mean seriously, it's like Agnès Varda said, “There is beauty in every scrap,” and Barras has it all!
