A report in the Leinster Leader on 19 May , debated the use of the Irish name for Newbridge, Droichead Nua, as its official name.

Man, what a day in Droichead-Nua! Seriously, I’m still reeling from it. Woke up, and the sun was shining like it was trying to blind me. I mean, c’mon, it’s Ireland! I thought we were supposed to be all about the rain and gloom. But nope, not today.
